« Le Garde Temps, la Naissance d’une Montre » lancé à SIHH 2012

The ‘“Le Garde Temps, la Naissance d’une Montre” adventure was officially launched at the 2012 SIHH, Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, to great acclaim and in the presence of the international press and industry experts from all four corners of the globe.

Renowned watchmaker Philippe Dufour and watchmaking teacher Michel Boulanger oversaw a traditional-style atelier at Greubel Forsey during SIHH – complete with watchmaker’s bench while they used historical, hand-operated tools to demonstrate some of the time-honoured techniques that Philippe Dufour, Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey felt duty-bound to safeguard and pass on to Michel during this adventure.

Those horological enthusiasts in attendance – including collectors, retailers and watch journalists – were left captivated by the various demonstrations, which included the use of a planting tool, uprighting tool and mandrel, plus a 3D film describing the motivation behind this ambitious project.
